Truly “A World in One Country”, the South Africa Safari Tour with The Complete Traveler is the ultimate trip of a lifetime. The escorted tour will explore Nelson Mandela’s home, the Apartheid Museum, experience the animals in their natural habitat while on safari, watch whales close up, taste the wonderful wines and exquisite cuisine, and explore Cape Town in all its beauty. The tour will be September 27 to October 10, 2019.
The South Africa Safari Tour begins Sept. 28 when the tour arrives in Johannesburg where there will be a welcome reception and dinner at your hotel.
The next day the group will visit
The Apartheid Museum and then tour Soweto township. Since its inception, the Apartheid Museum has kept South Africans and international visitors informed about the effects of apartheid, and the changes that were brought about by Nelson Mandela after he became the first democratically elected president of South Africa
On Monday you will fly to a private game lodge for a four-night stay.
The following morning starts bright and early with a roar – the South Africa Safari Tour with The Complete Traveler goes into the African bush, which is home to the Big 5 – elephant, rhinos, cape buffaloes, leopards, and lions – oh my! You will enjoy an open vehicle game drive that includes a sundowner – a stop in the bush to enjoy a beverage while watching the sun setting over the Drakensberg Mountains. There are over 365 different bird species to enjoy, some of which will be pointed out by the qualified game rangers and Shangaan trackers.
After all that excitement, we shall fly non-stop to Cape Town, where we will transfer to the quaint village of Franschhoek. Saturday will feature a Wine Tasting in Boschendal, followed by a drive through the beautiful wine country. Sunday the South Africa Safari Tour journeys from Franschhoek to Cape Town, with a stop in
Hermanus for whale watching.
The South Africa Safari Tour will take the five-minute cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain via their
Cableway. Explore the summit of Table Mountain 1089 meters above Cape Town. The day continues to
Boulders Beach for penguin viewing, and a stop in
Simon’s Town.
