Alaska may be our 49th State but as independent as her geographical placement is, so is her beauty. Rugged, glacial, pristine and cosmopolitan you can experience all of this on your Cruise Alaska.
Alaska is the largest of all the Lower 48 in the United States and covers 663,268 square miles with 34,000 miles of coastline. It is home to only 736,000 residents where the wildlife outnumbers their two-legged citizens. Your Cruise Alaska can be anything you want it to be and your choices are plenty. You can choose – land – sea – air – hiking – rail – or any combination to explore this rich natural wonder. The glacial tundra of the coastlines is a symphony of organic sounds. The glaciers are talking in the constant crackling of the ice and the bubbles that burst on the surface. Have your cameras ready as house-sized blocks of ice create enormous waves as they crash into the open waters. It is the most anticipated quest on all Cruise Alaska tours.
Alaska has two distinct seasons – Peak and shoulder.
Peak is mid-May to mid-August due to temperate weather and the opening of Denali National Park. The park is only accessible by land excursion but well worth the adventure on your Cruise Alaska. Its most famous site is the Denali mountain, the highest peak in North America. Snow-capped and covered in the sun’s swatches in the crisp summer day. It is home to much of Alaska’s wildlife. This is bear country and you are in their house. The late summer season Denali welcomes the new cubs and mama is very protective but curious. It is a homestead to moose, reindeer, caribou, sheep and in flight, Golden Eagles.
The peak season is abundant in sunlight and with 21 hours on average you are likely to see the locals on your land excursions.
Alaska is not without her cosmopolitan sisters, Juneau, Anchorage and Fairbanks. Here you enjoy the local customs, her natives, artisans and even prospecting for gold. Each Cruise Alaska is as different as it is exciting. We can find the perfect cruise for you based on your interests and activities. Keep in mind that your Cruise Alaska adventure is in high demand and early booking is essential during the peak summer months. Cruise Alaska is perfect for families too! We have a limited cruise excursion being offered in June 2019. Put Alaska on your “Buckley” list and explore this magnificent, wild and natural state. Click here for our itinerary.
